Frequently asked questions about CDC’s hydraulic manifolds

On this page you will find answers to common questions about Custom Design Components’ hydraulic manifolds, fluid power solutions and custom design capabilities. If you have any questions that aren’t addressed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via our contact page

What materials are you able to work with?

We stock a large selection of 6061 Aluminum and 65-45-12 Durabar. Other materials are available upon request.

What are your machining capacities?

Our machines can run blocks up to 2800 pounds or with dimensions up to 12"x12"x30".

Does Custom Design Components have turning capacity?

Our sister company, Precise Machining, has turning capacity. They utilize a CNC lathe which can run parts up to 12" long with 2" through the spindle and 6" chucking ability.

Who owns the rights to the designs created at Custom Design Components?

We retain the rights to all manifold designs we create. However, if you wish to purchase the rights to your manifold, that can be negotiated.

Do you keep manifolds in stock?

We do keep a variety of finished manifolds in inventory. These manifolds are available for purchase at quoted pricing.

Are all your manifolds made to order?

We create customer-specific manifolds as well as stock parts. Stock parts are generic manifolds for common usage, such as sub plates, bar manifolds, and bodies.

What is the pricing structure for stock parts?

On orders for 75 units or less, our stock parts are sold at a part-specific base price. For orders larger than 75 units, discounts may apply.

Is there a tooling charge?

There are no tooling charges for most manifolds. Tooling charges are only applied in special circumstances for small, one-time orders.

What quantities are your manifolds available in?

We are able to produce high quality hydraulic manifolds in quantities ranging from 1 to 3,000. In many cases, we can produce even larger quantities, at a competitive price, if necessary.

Do you provide break-down service on your manifolds?

Yes. If there is a problem with a manifold purchased from Custom Design Components, we will replace the manifold as quickly as possible, usually within 48-72 hours.

What design software does Custom Design Components use?

We use Autodesk Inventor with MDTools.

What are your approximate lead times?

Standard lead times are included in project quotes. Expedited lead times are available upon request.
